How to use the click counter

The total is shown in the purple area, starts at 0, and is controlled with the mouse, the buttons, or the keyboard.

Increment

Click the purple area, press the + button, or use the + key. Each action increases the total by the configured step.

Decrement

Press the button or the key to subtract the same step.

Reset

When you want to start over, press Reset counter. The total returns to 0; the step and sound option are kept.

Step other than 1

If you do not want to count one by one, change Increment by. If you set it to 5, each click adds or subtracts 5. The step must be greater than zero.

Click sound

Enable sound plays a click each time the total changes. You can switch it on or off whenever you want; the count is not affected.

Click counter or CPS Test

This counter keeps a running total with no timer: each click on the area, on +, or on the + key adds the step; subtracts it. It counts events. It does not measure speed.

If you want to know how many clicks you make per second, use the CPS Test (Clicks Per Second).

What a click counter is for

For a live tally with a single total, without paper or a spreadsheet. One click per event.

  • Inventory: units, boxes, or packs in a shop or warehouse.
  • Headcount: people walking into a venue, a class, or an event.
  • Votes: hands raised, a quick poll, or points in a game.
  • Exercise: reps, sets, or laps.
  • Crafts: knitting rows or a simple scoreboard.
  • Habits: glasses of water, doses, or prayer repetitions.

Counting by n

If you count boxes of 6, packs of 12, or 2-point baskets, set that number in Increment by. Each click on + or applies the same step. You avoid adding one by one and losing count.

Enable sound confirms the click when you are not looking at the screen (a door, a shelf, a set). It does not change the total. On a physical keyboard, + and do the same as the buttons.

What this counter does not do

The number lives in this tab. If you reload, close it, or switch devices, it goes back to 0: nothing is stored on a server or in the browser. It also does not count website visits or ad clicks; that is analytics, not this panel.

You can go below 0 if you subtract too far. There are no multiple counters at once and no history. One operator, one rhythm: if two people click the same tally, the total doubles.

Frequently asked questions

Is this counter a CPS Test?

No. Here the total grows with no time limit. A CPS Test times your clicks and calculates clicks per second.

Is the count saved?

No. Reloading the page resets the total to 0. If the number matters, write it down before you close the tab.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. On a touchscreen, tap the total area or the + and buttons. The + and keys are for a physical keyboard.

Can I count by fives?

Yes. Set 5 (or 6, 10, 12) in Increment by. Each click adds or subtracts that amount.

What is the sound for?

To confirm each click without looking. The count is the same with the sound off.
